On 21 July Ludlow Rotary Club is holding the 6th annual Dog Day in the beautiful grounds of Stokesay Court, situated approximately 6 miles north of Ludlow and just off the A49.

The emphasis of the day is on fun for all the family, including our fury friends. You will be able to participate in over 20 classes from the scruffiest mutt, the fastest sausage eater and the best junior handler, up to the best in show.

Throughout the day there will be a range of dog demonstrations including agility, obedience and flyball given by teams from around the country including the nationally well known ‘Paws for Thought’ team.

There are also a number of Have a Go challenges, including dog agility, gun dog scurry and fun dog racing.

As well as all the doggy events there are stalls selling canine related goods, a wide range of food stalls, and for those with a thirst there is the popular tea tent, Pimms tent and the Hobsons Bar.

As a result of the money raised over the last 5 years at the annual Ludlow Dog Day, Ludlow Rotary Club has been able to distribute over £90,000 to a range of charities and community organizations.

This years’ chosen charities are Hope House Children’s Hospices which provide care and support to life-limited children, young people and their families from Shropshire, Cheshire, and North and Mid Wales, St Michael’s Hospice, Hereford which is dedicated to the support of patients affected by a terminal illness and their families, Guide Dogs for the Blind, with their Ludlow Supporter Group, which is committed to helping people who are blind or partially sighted lead more independent lives and Ludlow Rotary Cares which is run annually by Ludlow Rotary Club and provides small grants to help local charities and organisations make a real difference in the community.

So please join us on 21 July to celebrate our fury friends and enjoy a wonderful day in a glorious setting, whilst supporting such important charities.
